Oregon Casinos Ban Minors

Teenage casino players 18 and below are not allowed to play and gamble inside the casinos of Oregon.

Casinos in Oregon do not allow 18 years of age to play poker to prevent them from playing under the influence of alcohol.

Casinos comply with the ruling of Indian Gaming Regulatory Act that classifies poker as a class two game.

According to Randy Sitton, chairman of the National Indian Gaming Commission on West Coast, said that class two games are under the regulation of casinos.

The casino games classified as class two games are the games that can be played against one another and the winnings are provided by the pooled money of the players.

Craps, blackjack, slots and roulette are classified as class three games. The games included in this level are the games that casino players can play against the house. These games are only allowed for players aged twenty one years old and above.

Jim Kikumoto, general manager of Chinook Winds in Lincoln City allows 18 year old players, but the casino strictly regulate them thus they refrain from encouraging the teens to play poker.

Casino players can go to the Washington state where the legal age of gambling is eighteen years of age. But land based casinos in Washington usually do not allow gamblers below twenty one years of age to gamble because of the alcohol laws observed at the state.

Casinos on both Oregon and Washington actively encourage their players to practice responsible gambling.
